I saw them a few summers ago. It was billed as “An evening with Cake.” There was no opening band. They played a full set, took an intermission, and played another full set. It was a fantastic show.

Jealous. The opening band at my concert was called Wolf and Tuba. It was just a straight hour of a guy singing into a tuba with weird synthesizer stuff going on. I don’t think anyone was into it, honestly.

There was no opening band. They played a full set, took an intermission, and played another full set. It was a fantastic show.

I saw them at an outdoor venue last summer. Same format, and same results. It was a terrific show, and I’m so glad I made the trip.

Our show was also at an outdoor venue (Steelstacks in Bethlehem PA), but i think it was in 2015. I remember that they gave away a fruit tree at one point. There was also a pretty strict no photography/ video recording policy which was actually pretty great. Spending an entire concert just standing there and recording it is pretty dumb. It was far more enjoyable to just experience it in the moment.

Cake is my garage band.

Shuffle/random/repeat their catalog whenever I’m wrenching or detailing in the garage..

They did this at the show I attended too. Really great band with really great fan engagement :)
